Every student at St. Matthew will be assigned to a staff member who is charged with facilitating student success.
Grades JK-5: The classroom teacher will be in close contact with students and families.
We will reach out to families at the start of the school year for a check-in to see how things are going and what support we can provide.
In our RTL plan, we identify specific time frames for teachers to communicate with families in the event of remote learning.
The school counselor, Kay Staudacher, will be there for students who want to talk individually or in small groups.
Kay will be prepared for extra student support needed to help students cope with the uncertainties a pandemic brings.
Teachers will be provided resources to support students and maintain the sense of community whether we are onsite or learning remotely.
The incorporation of a curriculum titled, Friendzy, that is created for faith-based environements will be introduced to staff at in-service and to students the first weeks of school and throughout the schoool year.
Students will be provided tools to sustain feelings of gratitude, hopefulness, resilience, and more with an emphasis on faith in times of uncertainty.
