Kindergarten

EDUCATION

Our educational focus is on learning phonic skills, reading and writing simple words with Jolly Phonics.  We also include literacy instruction through Secret Stories to help students understand letters and the development of words. In Math we focus on counting to 100 by 1s and 10s. We explore Science through hands-on activities such as wood working, paper making, fabric studies, animals and plants, and hatching eggs each spring.

FAITH

We increase our knowledge of God and our friendship with Jesus by attending weekly Mass with our 5th Grade Buddies, learning the Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, and Grace before Meals. We also relate everyday life to the Bible stories of Jesus.

SERVICE

In Kindergarten we learn about service by making decorations for the monthly Senior Potluck. We also participate in school-wide service projects within our Rainbow Teams.

EXTRAS!

We take field trips based on our units of study. We also have friendship groups and make special friendship t-shirts. We also host an end of the year classroom Program for our family and friends.
