St. Matthew School offers a daily breakfast and hot-lunch program adhering to the guidelines of the National School Lunch Program. Meals are prepared on-site pre-packaged, processed foods are avoided as much as possible in favor of made-from-scratch items.

Breakfast: 7:40 AM - 7:55 AM
Grab'n'Go Breakfast: Served after 7:55 AM
Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten & 1st Grade: 11:10AM-11:35AM
2nd & 3rd Grade: 11:45AM-12:10PM
4th & 5th Grade: 12:20PM-12:45PM
Any amount of money may be deposited into you family account. Families with more than one student share one family account. To access your account or to set your own custom warning level, please visit http://stmatthewcr.totalk12.com The money value of each meal purchased in the cafeteria will be deducted from your account using a computerized cashiering system. Money may be dropped off in the main office or to a students classroom teacher. It is not possible to charge or borrow from another students lunch account. We are in the process of evaluating an on-line system which would allow you to deposit money into your family account from home via credit card. Updates will be forthcoming. -

Meal Options
Students may chose daily between a main hot lunch item or an alternate lunch item. A cold lunch (sack lunch) may also be brought from home.

Menus
The monthly menus are posted on the school website to plan for meals in advance. For children, the school lunch program provides a nutritious meal that contains 1/3 of the recommended dietary allowance of necessary nutrients. For parents, the program offers a convenient method of providing a nutritionally balanced lunch. For schools, the program enhances children’s learning abilities by contributing to their physical and mental well being.
- We offer seconds (when available) to 4th & 5th grade students. Seconds are allowed only when the student has eaten the majority of their meal. If you DO NOT want your student to have seconds, please contact us.
- All students are able to purchase a second milk. The cost is $.65.

Meal Charge PolicyIt is the policy of St. Matthew School to offer nutritious meals to all students who desire them.
- Students qualifying for free lunches will always receive one regular meal, even if there is a negative balance from other purchases.
- Students qualifying for reduced lunches will always receive one regular meal, even if there is a negative balance from other purchase or if there are insufficient funds to cover the reduced portion of the meal.
- A reimbursable meal can be provided to students who have no funds in their account.
- Ala cart milks can be purchased by a student bringing a cold lunch, but have no funds in their account.
- A student with no funds in their account may not purchase seconds or a second milk.
- Any funds deposited will be applied to the negative balance first and then to the family account.
Automated
Parents are provided a daily reminder of low balances or negative balances of their account through a daily email.
Written
After the student is negative $15.00 a written letter is sent home to the parent or guardian to send payment immediately.
Verbal
When a student’s account is negative $30.00 a representative of St. Matthew will make a personal call to the parents or guardian to discuss the negative no fund balance.
In Person
The Principal will make contact to assess the situation first hand and help the school determine the appropriate response for each individual family.
Unpaid meal charges may be carried over at the end of a school year, therefore, collection efforts may continue into the new school year.

Eat Lunch With Your Students**For the 2022-23 school year, parents are not allowed to eat lunch at school - we will continue to monitor the current environment and may change this policy at a later date.**
Parents are welcome to join their child for lunch. Parents must contact the Food Service office by 9:00 am that morning, so we can prepare enough food for the day. The cost is $5.00. Lunches brought in from fast-food restaurants are not allowed. This applies for students and adults. -
