Hand sanitizing stations will be placed at the entrances of all buildings as well as having multiple hand sanitizers available in all classrooms.
We are asking parents to please provide their child with his/her own hand sanitizer. Additionally, the school will be purchasing a supply as well for refill and use throughout the year. Also, please instruct your child to not share the hand sanitizer with other children.
Frequent sanitizing of common areas such as doorknobs, light switches, water fountains, bathrooms, desks, and chairs will be done throughout the day, every day.
Visitors will remain in the outer entrance doorways.
Signage will be placed throughout the school as reminders to continue social distancing, washing hands, covering a cough, and use of hand sanitizer.
Teachers will talk with students about proper social distancing, washing hands, covering a cough, and using hand sanitizer on an ongoing basis.
Face covering decisions will be made later in July/early August
We will have space available in the main office for students/staff who are having COVID-19 related symptoms.
Families will be required to take their students temperature at home, prior to coming to school. More information on this plan and the collecting of temperature information will be forthcoming.
We will follow our current policy for sending students home that are sick or have a temperature of 100.3 or above. This is consistent with the IDPH and DE guidelines of staff and students who are ill should stay home.
FAMILIES- this part of the plan is where we all really need your help.
PLEASE keep your child at home if he or she is running a temperature of 100.3 or higher.
We also ask that you inform the office of your child’s symptoms if you call them in sick.
As recommended by the Iowa Department of Education (DE Guidance as of June 25, 2020), social distancing will be in place throughout the school day as best as possible.
